The benefits the Central Manchester Rail Trail that will extend northerly for 0.68 miles from where the current South Manchester Rail Trail terminates at Queen City Ave., is the establishment of a central intersection for some of the state’s longest rail trails, such as the southern half of the Granite State Rail Trail, the east-west Rockingham Recreational Trail and the Piscataquog Rail Trail.

It will clean up a fallow section of abandoned rail, which has become a hidden zone of undesirable behavior, and pave the rail trail path for pedestrians and bicyclists to enjoy. This 0.68 miles of rail trail will be a key piece in completing the 120-mile Granite State Rail Trail from Lebanon to Salem.
